Day 1 // St. Louis, MO
Head east today, arriving in St. Louis for the night. Rest up, the next several days are packed full of fascinating stops and fun!
Day 2 // Dayton, OH
Celebrate Ohio's aviation history with a visit to the Dayton Carillon Historical Park, a 65-acre museum that displays the 1905 Wright Flyer III, the world's first practical airplane.
Day 3 // Gettysburg, PA
Today we will travel to the famous town of Gettysburg this evening, and enjoy dinner upon arrival.
Day 4 // Bethlehem, PA
Three historic days in July 1863 marked a turning point in the Civil War and our nation's history. A licensed guide leads us on a tour of the Gettysburg National Battlefield. Walk the same fields where Union and Confederate soldiers fought and died as we learn more about this historic battle. Enjoy a delicious home-style lunch before a local expert joins us on the scenic backroads and country lanes that make up this charming area on an Amish Country tour.
Day 5 // New York City, NY
Guarding the entrance to New York Harbor on Liberty Island, the 305-foot Statue of Liberty was gifted to the United States by France to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Board a harbor cruise with stops at Liberty Island and its neighboring Ellis Island. Later, visit the powerful 9/11 Memorial & Museum, which will invoke powerful emotions as we honor those lost.
Day 6 // New York City, NY
Ascend 70 floors to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck at Rockefeller Center for an extraordinary view of Manhattan. The unobstructed views stretch from Central Park to downtown's skyscrapers. Capture the sights and sounds of Times Square during free time on your own. Then take your seat for an unforgettable Broadway performance.
Day 7 // Albany, NY
Today, head to Hyde Park to visit Franklin D. Roosevelt's Presidential Library and Museum. The facility celebrates the life and legacy of one of the most influential men in the 20th century.
Day 8 // Saranac Lake, NY
This morning, take a journey through the sweet history of Vermont's maple sugar industry at the Mount Pleasant Sugar Works. Watch a teddy bear come to life at the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, famous for creating unique bears for people all over the world. Celebrated as one of the most scenic ferry crossings in North America, the Lake Champlain Ferry offers us breathtaking views of land and water as we ride back to New York.
Day 9 // Watertown, NY
Our morning begins in High Falls Gorge, the privately-owned nature park with four spectacular waterfalls located in the shadow of Whiteface Mountain. After lunch in the park, we'll make our way to what was once a sleepy village called Lake Placid, nestled in the Adirondacks. Lake Placid is now also home to a world-renowned Olympic ski jumping complex, which we will get to see today on a guided tour of the area
Day 10 // Niagara Falls, NY
Take pride in American products as we visit the patriotic Made in America store. Featuring items made and packaged here, it is the only general merchandise store in the country that sells 100% American made products. Enjoy lunch, and then in the afternoon, view the inspiring Niagara Falls from the Maid of the Mist and experience the rush that comes with the mighty thunder and scattering spray.
Day 11 // Columbus, OH
Spend some time today in Dover, home to the Warther Museum. Ernest “Mooney” Warther was a master craftsman, creating hundreds of detailed models of locomotives and other items out of ivory, ebony and other fine materials. Dinner will be included this evening.
Day 12 // St. Louis, MO
Tour the beautiful Italianate Victorian family home of our 23rd President, Benjamin Harrison. Peruse his personal artifacts and political memorabilia, learning the story of his life and the greater era. Stop for lunch in Indianapolis.
Day 13 // Home
Arrive home full of crisp, fall freshness after an exciting and unforgettable time in New England and New York.
