Tour Description
Begin your adventure with a visit to the Amish Cheese House in Chouteau, Oklahoma?a charming, family-owned restaurant known for its fresh, homemade sandwiches crafted with just-baked bread, savory meats, and a wide variety of cheeses sourced from the local Amish community. Enjoy a traditional Amish dinner before heading to your next stop: Sequoyah?s Cabin. Built in 1829, this historic log cabin offers a glimpse into Sequoyah?s legacy and his mission to promote literacy within the Cherokee Nation. From there, we?ll hit the road and soak in the scenic views along the way. Our day ends with dinner at the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge, perched atop 2,681-foot Rich Mountain?Arkansas?s second highest peak. The lodge features expansive windows that frame breathtaking vistas of the surrounding Ouachita Mountains.
As we make our way home, we?ll wander along the Talimena National Scenic Byway?a 54-mile ribbon of road winding through southeast Oklahoma, where sweeping vistas take your breath away.
