After our flight, we'll drive to the mountain village of Bethel this afternoon to check into the lovely Sunday River Mountainside Resort. A welcome reception and dinner will be served on arrival.

Day 2 // Newry, ME

This morning, stop at Maine Line Products for a sample of their homemade fudge and your Maine souvenirs. Next you'll tour the new interactive, Maine Mineral & Gem Museum with mineral specimens, gemstones, and items that tell the story of Maine's mining history. In the afternoon, meet your local guide at the hotel for a two hour moose watching tour at Grafton Notch State Park. Dinner is included this evening.

Day 3 // Bar Harbor, ME

This morning, try your hand at a mineral and gemstone sluicing program. Check in to our beautiful Atlantic Oceanside Hotel, overlooking scenic Frenchman's Bay. Enjoy a traditional lobster bake dinner tonight.

Day 4 // Bar Harbor, ME

This morning, set sail on the Acadian Nature Cruise. Search for eagles, porpoises, seals and other marine mammals and birds aboard a two-hour nature sightseeing cruise on Frenchman's Bay. Enjoy a bit of free time to explore the charm of Bar Harbor Village's shops and restaurants along the waterfront. Tonight you will be treated to some unique Maine entertainment at the Great Maine Lumberjack Show. See “the Olympics
of the Forest” re-enacted as the lumberjacks and loggers compete in axe throwing, log rolling, wood sawing, and more. Then
dinner is included this evening at the hotel.

Day 5 // Ogunquit, ME

Enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel this morning before a jam packed day of exploration. Meet your local guide for a one hour walking tour of the Historic Homes in Bar Harbor. Take a leisurely stroll through the area's historic past and hear tales of how Bar Harbor grew into both a summer haven and year-round residences for many Euro-Americans. You'll also learn how previously established Wabanaki Indian encampments had to adapt as the town grew with new people. This architectural history tour visits sites of Indian camps, buildings erected during the heydey of the famed Cottage era and those built after the Great fire of 1947. After the tour you will have some free time in Bar Harbor. This afternoon you will meet your local guide for a tour of Acadia National Park. Here, at the first national park founded east of the Mississippi, you will see 9 mountains over 1000 feet high, stone bridges, lakes, ponds, trails and carriage roads. You will ride along the entire Park Loop Road and wind your way to the top of Cadillac Mountain for stunning views. Enjoy crashing waves at Thunder Hole and visit Sieur De Mont Springs Wild Gardens of Acadia.

Day 6 // Wells, ME

Lunch today will be included at The Maine Tasting Center. Your host will meet the group and share some fun facts about Maine foods. Travel to the oyster capital of New England to enjoy The Damariscotta River Cruise and see an oyster farm while doing some seal-watching. Dinner is included this evening.

Day 7 // Wells, ME

This morning we'll travel a short way before meeting our local guide for a narrated tour of Kennebunkport and Kennebunk, two shipbuilding villages. Hear the history and folklore as you drive past the beaches, hear the legend of the Wedding Cake House and maritime history of sea captains and shipbuilders. Have some free time for shopping in Dock Square. Experience authentic lobster harvesting along the rocky coast on a Maine lobstering cruise. Learn how the lobstermen make their living as they haul traps from the sea on board a special narrated lobstering tour boat. Dinner is included this evening at a local favorite.

Day 8 // Home

Start the day with a relaxed breakfast before bidding farewell to this beautiful region. We'll then head toward the airport, carrying wonderful memories as we board for our flight home, closing out an unforgettable vacation.
