Itinerary

The tradition of Teddy Roosevelt is woven through a tour that has become a Village classic. See incredible sights like Mount Rushmore, Badlands, Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Parks, and so much more. Add in a stop at the brand new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, and you’ve got a great Village itinerary!

Day 1 // Kearney, NE

Our long-awaited journey is here. The National Orphan Train Complex houses collections and exhibits that tell the story of the children who were part of the Orphan Train Movement from 1854 to 1929. We'll stop in Kearney for the night to rest up for our adventure.

Day 2 // Rapid City, SD

This afternoon, we will stop at the famous Wall Drug Store, whose secret to success originates in offering free ice water to travelers since the 1930's. Later we will visit the Badlands National Park and soak in the gorgeous scenery before our two-night stay in Rapid City.

Day 3 // Rapid City, SD

See one of the nation's most recognized monuments, Mount Rushmore. Its story is amazing, its vision is inspiring, and we get to experience all of it on this journey! The largest mountain carving in the world is right here in the Black Hills—the Crazy Horse Memorial is overwhelming in scope, and today we will learn about its controversial history. Get off the beaten path on a Jeep Tour through Custer State Park where we'll be on the lookout for pronghorns, elk, and bison.

Day 4 // Medora, ND

Today we have some time to explore the newest Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. Opening July 4, 2026, you will be among the first to experience the exhibits that explore Roosevelt's life and legacy. This evening a delicious dinner at Pitchfork Steak Fondue awaits. Then take your seats for the fabulous lively outdoor show that is the acclaimed Medora Musical!

Day 5 // Billings, MT

Experience the compelling story of Custer's Last Stand during our visit to Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in the high plains. Visit the Custer Battlefield Trading Post for an opportunity to pick up a handmade Crow Indian souvenir!

Day 6 // Cody, WY

Tour the incredible Moss Mansion. Built in 1903, it features unrivaled craftsmanship and marvelous 'modern' amenities such as heated indoor plumbing and an electric bell system for servants. Today we'll learn about one of the most interesting legends of the West, Buffalo Bill Cody. The Buffalo Bill Center of the West pays tribute to this man's public and personal life, as well as to other pioneering men and women who helped create the legendary Wild West. Explore the town of Cody during some free time and then dine on classic American fare at the Irma Hotel & Restaurant, a local treasure. Cody is also the rodeo capital of the world so we can't miss the cowboys, broncos, and bull-riders at the Cody Nite Rodeo!

Day 7 // West Yellowstone, WY

We begin our adventure in Yellowstone National Park this morning. This famous park contains more than two million acres of steaming geysers, crystalline lakes, thundering waterfalls and panoramic views. An experienced guide will be with us all day to point out items of interest. Witness some of the most famous and breathtaking sights of Yellowstone, including the mesmerizing Grand Prismatic Spring and the steaming Old Faithful geyser. Lunch is included. Following our full day of exploring this spectacular national park, retreat to our lodging in West Yellowstone.

Day 8 // Jackson, WY

This morning we'll return to Yellowstone National Park for more exploring! We'll take our time, meandering from West Yellowstone to Jackson. Explore Grand Teton National Park along the way, enjoying the beautiful views both parks have to offer!

Day 9 // Casper, WY

A relaxing Float Trip down Snake River will allow us a unique perspective and beautiful views of Grand Teton. Traverse through an untouched natural landscape with open and forested environments so you can spot a wide variety of animals in their habitats. Our knowledgeable guide will educate you on the history, geology, and local lore of Jackson Hole and point out the most impressive peaks in the Teton Range. Travel east from here, leaving the Rocky Mountains in our rearview mirror.

Day 10 // Colby, KS

As we travel towards the homefront, we will stop into the Wyoming State Museum to learn about the state's diverse heritage. Then enjoy the beautiful sites as we continue our journey back towards the Midwest.

Day 11 // Home

It's gonna take more than an adventure like this one to make you into a real cowboy or cowgirl, but you're a whole lot closer now! After a roughridin' adventure to remember, we arrive home today.
