Day 1 // Amarillo, TX
Kick off the adventure with a visit to one of Route 66's most beloved stops, Lucille's Roadhouse, where nostalgia and classic Americana set the perfect scene for lunch. In the afternoon, explore the Stafford Air & Space Museum, discovering the captivating history of aviation and space exploration.
Day 2 // Albuquerque, NM
Today, stop to marvel at the legendary Cadillac Ranch, a quirky Route 66 icon where colorful Cadillacs rise from the ground as a living, ever-changing work of art. Then, make a refreshing visit to the sparkling Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, a crystal-clear natural spring perfect for a moment of relaxation or a quick dip. We then arrive in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to settle in for a comfortable two-night stay.
Day 3 // Albuquerque, NM
We will be up early this morning for our first morning at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. This morning, witness hundreds of prismatic balloons lift off and fill the horizon. This makes for a truly oneof-a-kind photo op! Pilots compete in various skills tests and show off the amazing precision and knowledge it takes to take the helm of one of these aircraft. This afternoon we are joined by a local guide who will take us on a historic city tour. Enjoy some free time in Old Town before heading back to the hotel for the night.
Day 4 // Amarillo, TX
After a good night's sleep we return early to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta field for our second opportunity to see the sky filled with wonderful shapes and colors. Walk through the launch field and talk with pilots and their crews. It's not hard to see why this event draws so many people, from full time balloon chasers to first time spectators. Tonight, enjoy an included dinner.
Day 5 // Home
On the journey home, we visit the Devil's Rope Museum, a unique stop celebrating the history of barbed wire and its impact on the American West, followed by the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum. These fascinating attractions offer a final glimpse into the culture, heritage, and quirky charm of the Southwest, bringing our Route 66 adventure to a memorable close.
