Itinerary
Snow-covered geysers, an abundance of wildlife, and a distinct lack of crowds make this tour a Village favorite. Yellowstone National Park is known for its natural beauty, and it is a beautiful sight to see in the winter time.
Day 1 // Denver, CO
With nearly 3,500 square miles of wilderness atop a volcanic hot spot, Yellowstone National Park spreads into three states. It features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs, and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful. It is also home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk, and antelope. We begin our unforgettable journey west today
Day 2 // Meeker, CO
Cross the Continental Divide aboard an Amtrak train traveling from Denver to Glenwood Springs. Tunnels, peaks, and small mountain towns round out the trip for an amazing leg of our journey. Enjoy a delicious dinner this evening.
Day 3 // Jackson, WY
Relax as we continue our stunning journey through the breathtaking panoramas on our way to unforgettable Jackson Hole. Settle in for a two night stay in the historic town and visit "Town Square", best known for its elk-antler arches at each corner of the park. Get some rest tonight because the rich natural beauty we'll experience tomorrow is something you will certainly not want to miss.
Day 4 // Jackson, WY
Take on the vast winter wonderland of Yellowstone National Park. Our Snowcoach Tour will make several stops along the way as we admire the beautiful landscape and learn the history and geological features of the park. Keep your eyes peeled for elk, bison, trumpeter swans, bald eagles, and coyotes. You’ll enjoy lunch during this tour and watch the steaming spurts of Old Faithful, the star of Yellowstone and the best-known geyser in the world. You can almost set your watch by the eruptions that occur about every 90 minutes— you won’t want to miss it.
Day 5 // Rock Springs, WY
This morning take a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the Jackson Hole Elk Refuge, home to 10,000 elk in their natural surroundings. Get an up-close view of these majestic creatures and listen as your guide narrates the history and habits of the largest land migration of elk in the U.S. Visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art, which overlooks the Elk Refuge, and features more than 5,000 fascinating works of art representing wild animals from around the world.
Day 6 // Limon, CO
As we journey home, we stop for lunch in the charming town of Laramie, WY. The only prison to ever hold Butch Cassidy, the Wyoming Territorial Prison operated from 1872 to 1903 and we will get a chance to explore the facility and stretch our legs before we resume our travels. Relax this afternoon and enjoy the Colorado scenery outside your windows.
Day 7 // Home
No matter how many places we’ve traveled, Yellowstone will always be a treasured destination. Reflect on your winter wonderland experience as our adventure draws to a close
