Itinerary

Enjoy autumn in the Ozarks with some of the best that Arkansas has to offer. History, hot springs, gardens, gorgeous views, and world class art with a bit of an international flair all squeezed into this short getaway!

Day 1 // Hot Springs, AR

Hit the road in your premium Village Motorcoach and head towards “The Natural State.” Tonight we enjoy an included group dinner together before turning in for the night.

Day 2 // Hot Springs, AR

You may have been here before, but you probably haven't seen it like this! We board the Hot Springs Trolley this morning for a narrated tour of the city. You will hear colorful stories of residents and visitors, have a chance to sample the spring water and experience a breathtaking view of Hot Springs National Park and Ouachita Valley. The afternoon is yours to enjoy-you may choose to have a hot spring spa treatment (must be pre-booked, pricing not included), try a beer brewed with the natural spring water, walk the numerous trails in the area, or find treasures in the local shops. You will not want to miss the opportunity to visit the Fordyce Bathhouse Museum. The largest of the original bathhouses has been extensively restored and gives a glamorous view of these wonderful structures.

Day 3 // Hot Springs, AR

We start the day today exploring a little deeper into the darker side of Hot Springs with a visit to the Gangster Museum of America. This is an entertaining look at how some of the most notorious criminals in the 20s, 30s and 40s co-existed with the population of this quiet mountain town. We then take advantage of the autumn day with a trip out to Garvan Woodland Gardens. Enjoy a picnic lunch and wander the 210-acre botanical garden at your own pace. Find peace among the floral landscapes, streams and waterfalls along Lake Hamilton.

Day 4 // Paris, AR

Today we will pay a visit to The Clinton Presidential Center where the interactive permanent exhibitions, including replicas of the Cabinet Room and Oval Office, invite you to experience presidential history as if you were a White House insider. Ascend to the top of Mount Magazine for a two night stay in a rustic lodge, where every room features breathtaking views of the Petit Jean River Valley and distant Blue Mountain Lake. Enjoy a delicious southern dinner at the lodge tonight.

Day 5 // Paris, AR

Today we'll take in breathtaking sweeping vistas of broad river valleys, deep canyons, and mountains. Enjoy a filling breakfast at the lodge, then visit Subiaco Abbey, where Benedictine monks live & worship. Since Subiaco Abbey's founding in 1878, the monks have devoted themselves to their efforts to catalog, preserve, restore, and now digitize documents, books, artifacts, of their cultural history! Explore one of Arkansas' natural wonders, Petit Jean State Park, where we dine for lunch at historic Mather Lodge overlooking Cedar Creek Canyon. This afternoon, a local tour guide will teach us about Mount Magazine's natural diversity and unique species. They'll discuss points-of-interest and talk about the fascinating areas on the state's tallest mountai

Day 6 // Bentonville, AR

Just a short jaunt to Springdale, AR to board the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad for a scenic ride through the Ozark National Forest and the foothills of the Boston Mountains, to the quaint town of Van Buren, AR. Once you disembark at the historic Frisco Depot enjoy a box lunch during the train ride back! Step back in time as we enter Simple Pleasures, a nod to America's pastime. A vintage soda fountain, neon advertising, and memorabilia are yours to explore. Here we'll eat a homemade dinner among automobiles from the 1920-1970s.

Day 6 // Rail Explorers

Take a tour with Rail Explorers and experience the magic of the railroad like never before! Ride the rails on our pedal-powered Rail Explorers - a unique activity suitable for everyone.

Day 7 // Home

One final destination before we make our way home, stop and visit the newly renovated Walmart Museum to learn the fascinating history and growth of this retail giant! The drive home today allows time to reflect on the sights, sounds, and history of our quick trip to beautiful Arkansas.
