Itinerary
Celebrate the Christmas season, San Antonio style! This tour is the complete Texas getaway with a tour of the Alamo, a special visit to the Dallas Arboretum, Holiday shopping at Magnolia Market and so much more! Add two nights at a hotel just off the San Antonio River Walk and this tour just can't miss!
Day 1 // Dallas, TX
“Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,” jingle all the way south for a festive holiday tour. Our first attraction is at the garden and home of the Dallas Arboretum. Elaborately decorated Victorian-style gazebos represent each of the 12 Days of Christmas as part of their beloved Holiday at the Arboretum tradition. Look for “five golden rings,” “twelve drummers drumming” and of course, “a partridge in a pear tree” as we peruse the spectacular display. Stop in the Dallas area for the night and get to know your fellow travelers, resting up in anticipation of an action-packed day tomorrow.
Day 2 // San Antonio, TX
No trip south would be complete without a Texas-sized stop at Buc-ee's as we head north. The mega convenience store has everything you ever wanted. A local guide joins us for a San Antonio Mission Tour, unlocking the distinctive culture and fascinating history of Mission San Jose, and if time permits, Mission Conception as well. This evening San Antonio is set beneath our feet as we enjoy dinner atop the famous Tower of the Americas. This 750-foot-tall tower, built to host the 1968 Hemisfair, provides spectacular views of the Alamo City.
Day 3 // San Antonio, TX
Today we will visit the Texas icon, The Alamo, originally known as the Misión San Antonio de Valero. Stroll through the 4.2-acre complex and gardens founded in the 18th century by Roman Catholic missionaries and retrace the steps of those who occupied the mission many years ago. Enjoy a delicious lunch and explore the sights and flavors of old Mexico at Historic Market Square, with over 100 unique locally owned shops. This afternoon we will have some free time to explore the Riverwalk on our own and watch as the Christmas lights come to life at dusk. Tonight, a relaxing riverboat cruise under the Christmas lights strung across the river will end the evening on a magical note.
Day 4 // Irving, TX
It's time to finish your holiday shopping! For fans of Chip and Joanna Gaines' mega-hit Fixer Upper on HGTV, there is not a more popular pilgrimage than the one to Waco to visit Magnolia Market at the Silos. During the holidays, the silos are transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland! Spend the afternoon browsing the eclectic collection of boutiques and shops in search of that perfect gift or perhaps something special for your home. There are sounds of the holiday season dancing upon the evening air tonight as we take our seats for an enthralling dinner show at The Texas Star Dinner Theatre.
Day 5 // Home
Return home today filled with Christmas cheer after experiencing the festive sights, sounds and flavors of San Antonio.
