Itinerary

Enjoy the beautiful Fall Foliage amongst the natural beauty of Arkansas State Parks on this unforgettable adventure. Ascend Mount Magazine, Ride the rails of the Arkansas-Missouri Railroad, and so much more on this 4-day tour.

Day 1 // Paris, AR

Take off for an autumn adventure! Every fall, nature paints the mountains and valleys of Arkansas state parks with gorgeous hues of gold, red, and orange. Visit the U.S. Marshals Museum, dedicated to the men and women who bravely serve our country. These unique exhibits will lend you a special perspective on their important work. Ascend to the top of Mount Magazine for a two night stay in a rustic lodge, where every room features breathtaking views of the Petit Jean River Valley and distant Blue Mountain Lake. Enjoy a delicious southern dinner at the lodge tonight.

Day 2 // Paris, AR

Today we'll take in breathtaking sweeping vistas of broad river valleys, deep canyons, and mountains. Enjoy a filling breakfast at the lodge, then visit Subiaco Abbey, where Benedictine monks live & worship. Since Subiaco Abbey's founding in 1878, the monks have devoted themselves to their efforts to catalog, preserve, restore, and now digitize documents, books, artifacts, of their cultural history! Explore one of Arkansas' natural wonders, Petit Jean State Park, where we dine for lunch at historic Mather Lodge overlooking Cedar Creek Canyon. This afternoon, a local tour guide will teach us about Mount Magazine's natural diversity and unique species. They'll discuss points-of-interest and talk about the fascinating areas on the state's tallest mountain.

Day 3 // Bentonville, AR

All aboard! Our first stop this morning is Old Frisco Depot! This building serves as the visitor center for historic Van Buren, as well as the location we'll begin our next adventure. Travel through some of the most rugged and spectacular sections of the Boston Mountains aboard the Arkansas-Missouri Railroad. Soak in mesmerizing views from three high trestles more than 100 feet off the ground, eating lunch on board. Tonight, step back in time as we enter Simple Pleasures, a nod to America's pastime. A vintage soda fountain, neon advertising, and memorabilia are yours to explore. Here we'll eat a homemade dinner among automobiles from the 1920-1970s.

Day 4 // Home

This morning the story of Walmart comes alive at the Walmart Visitor Center. The store boasts original floor tiles and an original tin ceiling, as well as toys, candy and books straight out of an earlier era. Continue home, after a refreshing tour to Arkansas.
