52 to 56 Passenger Charter Bus

Deluxe Motorcoach

A Deluxe motorcoach seats 52 to 56 passengers, which makes it the most requested coach in the Village Travel fleet. It is a full-size charter bus with reclining seats, an onboard restroom, individual climate control and ample luggage space, and every coach in this class is less than 10 years old. Tell us your dates and pickup point, and our team will confirm what is open for your group.

How Many Passengers Fit on a Deluxe Motorcoach?

A Deluxe motorcoach holds 52 to 56 passengers, depending on the specific coach. That is the standard size for a full-size charter bus. So it covers most school groups, church groups, sports teams and work outings without a second bus.

But if your group is smaller, you have options. Our Executive Recliner coach carries 40 passengers with more room per seat, and our Executive Sleeper carries 33. Larger groups ride on more than one coach. We plan the timing so that everyone arrives together.

Seat counts vary a little between coaches. So give us your final headcount when you ask for a quote. We will match you to a coach with room to spare rather than one you barely fit into.

What the Inside of a Deluxe Motorcoach Looks Like

Passengers sit two side by side on each side of a center aisle, in reclining seats. Each seat has a reading light, an individual overhead air vent and covered overhead storage. Every Deluxe coach has an onboard restroom, so long routes do not depend on finding a rest stop.

A DVD system runs on at least five monitors spaced down the coach. In addition, a PA system lets your group leader speak to everyone at once. 110-volt plug-ins keep phones and laptops charged. Easy entry steps make boarding simpler for older passengers and anyone carrying gear.

Wi-Fi is available on select coaches. Not every coach in the fleet carries it, so if Wi-Fi matters for your trip, tell us when you book and we will confirm it for your coach.

Who Travels on the Deluxe Motorcoach

This coach is the default choice for most group trips, because of its range. It rides well on a multi-day tour, yet it still works for a day trip across the state.

  • School groups heading to competitions, campus visits and field trips
  • Sports teams travelling with players, coaches and equipment
  • Church groups on retreats, mission trips and conferences
  • Corporate groups running conference shuttles and staff travel
  • Senior and tour groups on longer trips, because comfort matters most there

Your Driver Works for Us

Whatever the group, your driver works for Village Travel. Drivers are trained, drug tested and tracked under our USDOT safety record. That matters more than any feature on the list above.

We run under federal passenger carrier safety rules, and we belong to the United Motorcoach Association, the American Bus Association and the International Motorcoach Group.

Deluxe, Standard or Executive: Which Coach Fits

Village Travel operates four coach types, and the right one depends on group size, trip length and budget. Here is how they compare.

  • Standard motorcoach: 56 seats, 10 to 14 years old, with restroom and 110-volt power. Best for day trips on a budget.
  • Deluxe motorcoach: 52 to 56 seats, under 10 years old, with restroom, individual air vents and upgraded finishes. Best for most group trips.
  • Executive Recliner: 40 seats that recline 4 inches further, plus USB at every seat. Best for business and team trips.
  • Executive Sleeper: 33 wide seats that recline 8 inches further, three across instead of four. Best for overnight team trips.
  • Select coaches in every class carry Wi-Fi, so it is not what separates them.

Choosing Between Them

If budget drives the decision, compare the Standard motorcoach. If comfort on a long route matters more, look at the Executive Recliner. For overnight travel, the Executive Sleeper trades passenger count for the widest seats in the fleet.

What Affects the Cost of a Deluxe Motorcoach

We price each trip on its own rather than from a rate card, since no two routes cost the same to run. Several factors move the number:

  • Total miles and hours, including any empty miles to reach your pickup point
  • Trip length, because multi-day trips include a hotel for the driver
  • Season and dates, since spring and summer weekends book first
  • Number of coaches, if your group needs more than one
  • How complex the schedule is, such as several pickups or long waits between stops

Getting a Real Number

Send us the route and we will price it properly rather than quote a range that shifts once we see the details. If you are still weighing coach types, our charter bus rental page walks through the whole booking process.

Frequently Asked Questions

More answers live on our charter bus FAQs page.

How many passengers fit on a Deluxe motorcoach?

A Deluxe motorcoach seats 52 to 56 passengers depending on the specific coach. That is the standard size for a full-size charter bus. Give us your final headcount when you request a quote and we will assign a coach with room to spare.

Does a Deluxe motorcoach have a bathroom?

Yes. Every Deluxe motorcoach in the Village Travel fleet is restroom equipped. That means long highway routes do not depend on finding a rest stop, which matters most for school groups, senior tours and multi-hour trips.

Do Deluxe motorcoaches have Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi is available on select coaches. Not every coach in the fleet carries it, in any coach class, so if your group needs Wi-Fi, say so when you book and we will confirm it for the coach you get.

How much luggage can passengers bring?

Deluxe motorcoaches have ample luggage space in the bays below the coach, plus covered overhead storage inside for smaller bags. Tell us if your group travels with equipment, instruments or competition gear so we can plan the space.

How far in advance should we reserve a Deluxe motorcoach?

Book four to six weeks ahead for the best choice of coach. Spring and summer weekends, graduation season and holiday travel fill earliest. But if your dates are close, call anyway, because what is open changes daily across a fleet of more than 200 coaches.
