Itinerary
Wander the cellars of a Top 100 Tokaj winery, spend a night in a genuine Slovak castle hotel, and stroll the imperial gardens of Vienna and Prague on this journey through the heart of Central Europe. From Budapest’s thermal-fed Danube to Prague’s fairy-tale skyline, four countries unfold across nine unforgettable days on the ground.
Day 1 // Overnight Flight
Board your overnight flight to Budapest, Hungary.
Day 2 // Budapest, Hungary
We arrive in Budapest, straddling both banks of the Danube, check into our hotel, and gather for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. More than 130 thermal springs feed the city’s historic bathhouses.
Day 3 // Budapest, Hungary
A guided tour covers both Pest and Buda. We enter Matthias Church, coronation site of Hungarian kings, then visit Fisherman’s Bastion for views over the Danube. Lunch is included; evening has free time.
Day 4 // Košice, Slovakia
We travel to Hungary’s Tokaj region and Disznókő winery, named among the world’s Top 100 vineyards in 2024. A walk through the vines leads to a lookout called “the Rock of the Wild Boar,” followed by a cellar tour, a wine tasting, and lunch. We continue to Košice for a walking tour of the old town and its Underground Museum; St. Elisabeth Cathedral is viewed from outside only.
Day 5 // Central Slovakia
A guided tour to the Museum of Communism is followed by a stop at a family cattle and sheep farm for cheese tasting and lunch. We continue to Castle Hotel Galicia Nueva, with dinner in the hotel.
Day 6 // Bratislava, Slovakia
We visit a local home for a coffee break, then reach Banská Štiavnica, a UNESCO mining town where Maria Theresa founded the first technical mining academy in 1763. A falconry presentation and free time follow, then lunch with a Slovak folk music presentation. We finish with a walking tour of Bratislava’s Old Town; evening is free.
Day 7 // Bratislava, Slovakia
A day trip to Vienna includes a walking tour and lunch, followed by Schönbrunn Palace, former summer residence of the Habsburgs. Gardens are seen on your own before a guided tour of the palace interior. We return to Bratislava in the evening.
Day 8 // Prague, Czech Republic
We cross into the Czech Republic to tour Lednice Castle and its greenhouse, part of the UNESCO-listed Lednice-Valtice region, then walk the grounds. Lunch and free time follow in Mikulov before we continue to Prague; evening is free.
Day 9 // Prague, Czech Republic
A walking tour covers Prague’s Old Town, followed by lunch. In the afternoon we walk from Prague Castle through Malá Strana to Wallenstein Garden. Afternoon and evening are free.
Day 10 // Home
We say farewell to Prague this morning for our flight home, carrying castle views, vineyard toasts, and cobblestone memories from four countries.
