Day 1 // Des Moines, IA
Our Door County adventure begins today! Sit back and relax as we make our way to our first hotel, with a stop along the way for lunch.
Day 2 // Green Bay, WI
This morning we continue toward Door County, stopping in Dubuque, Iowa, for a ride on the Fenelon Place Elevator, the world’s shortest, steepest scenic railway. From the top, take in sweeping views of the Mississippi River and three states, then enjoy some free time to explore the town on your own.
Day 3 // Sturgeon Bay, WI
We arrive in Door County this morning and dive right into its flavors, visiting local wineries, cheese shops, and a chocolatier. This evening, we gather for a true Door County tradition: a fish boil dinner with all the fixings.
Day 4 // Sturgeon Bay, WI
Rise and shine early as we head to Northport Pier to catch the ferry to Washington Island. Once there, we’ll stroll through the fragrant fields of a local lavender farm and learn how lavender is distilled into oil. Lunch will be included, then we’ll see all Washington Island has to offer, including Stavkirke Church, the smooth limestone shores of Schoolhouse Beach, and the Washington Island Farm Museum. Tonight, we have dinner at a classic Wisconsin supper club, savoring true Midwestern hospitality.
Day 5 // Sturgeon Bay, WI
Adventure awaits this morning with a visit to the Door County Maritime Museum, followed by a stop at Cana Island Lighthouse. After lunch, we’ll browse a local market for Door County’s famous cherry jams and other treats. From there, enjoy a scenic drive through Peninsula State Park, capped off with a climb up Eagle Tower for sweeping views of the peninsula. This evening, we gather for a group dinner followed by a relaxing sunset boat cruise.
Day 6 // Loves Park, IL
As our time in Door County comes to an end, we head south to Racine for a visit to a Kringle bakery. Hear the history of this Danish pastry, sample the offerings, and pick up a Kringle to take home. After lunch together, we’ll take a scenic drive through Racine’s historic district to admire its famous architecture.
Day 7 // Chesterfield, MO
Today we visit downtown St. Charles, Missouri, for shopping along historic Main Street. Take a self-guided tour of the Soda Museum, housed in a fully restored 1896 building and home to the personal collection of local resident Tom Smith Jr., who has been collecting since he was ten years old. Wander through exhibits filled with vintage bottles, advertising, and memorabilia spanning generations of soda history, with the chance to taste more than 50 bottled sodas along the way.
