Itinerary
Day 1 // Fairbanks, AK
The adventure begins with a flight to Fairbanks, Alaska.
Day 2 // Fairbanks, AK
Visit Santa Claus House in nearby North Pole, a holiday shop since 1952. At the Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum, rare early automobiles share the floor with vintage fashions from their eras. Dinner is included tonight at the Alaska Salmon Bake.
Day 3 // Denali, AK
Board the Riverboat Discovery on the Chena River, run by a family with four generations of river history. Watch a bush pilot take off from the water, then visit the Chena Indian Village to learn about Athabascan culture. Lunch is included before we continue to Denali for two nights. Dinner tonight is at the Cabin Nite Dinner Theatre.
Day 4 // Denali, AK
A narrated full-day trip into Denali National Park covers six million acres of wilderness and wildlife. On a clear day, we may see Denali, North America’s tallest peak at 20,310 feet. A box lunch is included.
Day 5 // Anchorage, AK
On our way to Anchorage for two nights, we visit the Musk Ox Farm and learn about qiviut, the animal’s prized underwool. Dinner is included.
Day 6 // Anchorage, AK
A narrated trolley tour covers downtown Anchorage and its history. At The ULU Factory, we see how the ulu is made, a knife Alaska Native peoples have used for thousands of years. Lunch is included. At the Alaska Native Heritage Center, artists and storytellers share traditions passed down for generations.
Day 7 // Seward, AK
Ride the Alaska Railroad’s Coastal Classic past Turnagain Arm, waterfalls and glaciers. In Seward, the historic “Mile 0” of the Iditarod Trail, we visit a sled dog kennel to learn about the race and meet the husky puppies.
Day 8 // Seward, AK
Spend a full day cruising Kenai Fjords National Park among tidewater glaciers, seals, whales and puffins. The captain narrates, and a light lunch is served on board.
Day 9 // Overnight Flight
Day 10 // Home
